Standards Search Results
Standards Search Results Page
The Standards Search displays all standards that match your search terms and selected filters. Below is an overview of the key functions on the results page.
1. Standards Information
Each search result includes the following information:
- Standard
- Document number
- Document title
- Languages
- Historic versions
- Document status (Current status of the document)
- Document version (Current version of the document)
2. Filters
Search results can be refined by selecting relevant parameters. Results update automatically when you select a filter.
If you want to filter specifically by standards in Click2View (C2V), Watched documents, or your Collections, use the Search In filter. This allows you to limit your results to these specific document groups.
3. Selected Filters
All selected filters appear at the top of the page. You can remove individual filters to adjust your results or click Clear All to return to your original search results.
4. Actions:
You can manage documents individually or in bulk (depending on your user role/s):
- Individual actions: Use the 3-dot menu to watch/unwatch a standard or add/remove it from your management collection.
- Bulk actions: Select multiple standards, then choose an action such as Watch, Unwatch, Add to Collection, or Remove from Collection.
5. Sort
Search results are sorted by relevance by default. You can switch to alphabetical sorting if desired.
6. Save Search
Click Save Search to save your search terms and filters. Provide a title, save it, and your saved search will appear on your Home page the next time you log in.
7. Export
To export the search results, click on the export button, select the column fields required, then export the file.
How i2i Determines Standards Search Result Relevance
To help you quickly find the most useful standards, i2i ranks search results using a combination of text matching and personalized relevance signals. Here’s a simple overview of how our relevance logic works:
1. Text Match Comes First : i2i looks at how closely a document matches what you typed. This includes matches in:
- Document number
- Title
- Common names/aliases
- Summaries and descriptions
- Localised titles (where available)
More exact and clear matches appear higher in your results.
2. Frequently Used Documents Are Boosted : If a document is accessed often across the platform, it receives a small boost. This helps commonly viewed or high-value standards appear more prominently.
3. Some Publishers May Rank Higher : Certain publishers may receive boosts based on your region. This helps surface the publishers most commonly used or most relevant in your market.
4. Your My Documents Items Receive a Boost — but Not Always the Top Result
If your subscription includes My Documents, any internal documents you’ve uploaded or grouped are given a relevance boost.
However, this does not guarantee they will always appear at the very top. Their position still depends on:
- How well they match your search terms
- Other relevance boosts applied (e.g., text match, publisher relevance, platform-wide usage)
The boost helps them appear earlier when they are meaningfully relevant, not override stronger matches from other documents.
Why Results May Not Always Look “Sorted by Document Number”
Because i2i ranks results by relevance, documents are not sorted alphabetically or numerically by default. You may see standards with similar numbers spread throughout the list if others are considered a closer match to the search.
Our Goal
All of these signals work together to:
- Deliver more accurate results
- Prioritize the documents most relevant to your organization
- Reduce the time you spend finding the right standard
We continuously tune our relevance engine to improve accuracy and your search experience.
